Position Overview
The Secondary Pastoral Care Coordinator (Stage 5) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the wellbeing of students within our school community. Reporting to the Director of Wellbeing, this full-time, ongoing position is responsible for the oversight and implementation of pastoral care programs, supporting both students and staff in their educational and personal growth.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with staff on pastoral care initiatives, coordinating sectional events, managing discipline matters, and maintaining effective communication with parents to address pastoral and academic concerns. The successful candidate will actively contribute to the school's vision and values while fostering a supportive environment for students. This role includes an approximate 0.6 FTE teaching load.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a qualified individual who embodies the values of our school and is passionate about student wellbeing and development.
- Relevant university/tertiary teaching qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Registration and accreditation with NESA.
- Proven experience in pastoral care and student support within an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- A valid, paid Working with Children Check.
- A genuine Christian faith of reformed persuasion, with active commitment to a local church.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning and actively participate in professional development to enhance their practice in Christian education.
Compensation and Benefits
The position is remunerated in accordance with the Christian Schools NSW (Teachers) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023. The final salary offer will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience. This role includes an approximate 0.6 FTE teaching load, with the remaining time dedicated to pastoral care leadership and coordination responsibilities and attracts a Position of Responsibility allowance (POR Level 1).
