Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team on a temporary part-time basis (3 days per week). This role will commence as soon as possible and continue through to the end of January 2026, including work during school holiday periods.
You will play a pivotal role in managing the School’s accounts payable function using Synergetic, our Information Management System. Your accuracy, organisational skills, and customer service focus will support smooth financial operations and stakeholder satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Process domestic and international creditor payments, ensuring compliance with credit terms.
- Maintain the accounts payable system, troubleshooting and coordinating with IT for updates.
- Ensure accurate electronic filing of invoices and payment records for auditing purposes.
- Manage GST treatment and ensure accuracy in all payment processing.
- Prepare and reconcile payments efficiently, tracking departmental budgets and capital expenditures.
- Address supplier queries and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Monitor utilities accounts and investigate billing discrepancies.
- Coordinate vehicle registration renewals and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documentation.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of experience and skills that align with our operational needs and our commitment to excellence.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role.
- Proficient in financial systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong numerical competency.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and embrace feedback.
- Experience in an educational environment is highly regarded, with Synergetic familiarity being desirable.
- Must hold a valid Working with Children Check, and be a practicing Christian aligned with our Statement of Faith.

Compensation & Work Environment
This position is fixed-term and part-time, including responsibilities during school term breaks. The salary will be competitive and based on experience, in accordance with the Christian Schools NSW Multi-Enterprise Agreement.
