We seek a passionate and skilled School Psychologist to join our team and play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and psychological wellbeing of our students.

Position Overview

The School Psychologist will utilise their expertise in counselling, education, and pastoral care to assist students, parents, teachers, and the Executive team in achieving optimal educational outcomes. This role involves individual counseling, group sessions, psychoeducational assessments, and collaborative efforts with school staff and families to promote student development. The position is part-time, requiring four working days per week across two campuses, with flexibility available for candidates preferring to work at one location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological and educational assessments to evaluate child and adolescent development.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions for students and parents, including early intervention and group programs.
  • Complete risk assessments and adhere to mandatory reporting guidelines.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external providers to ensure effective treatment delivery.
  • Document clinical findings in compliance with APS standards and contribute to student learning support folders.
  • Create individualised learning support plans and provide training for staff to best meet students' needs.
  • Facilitate teacher training and contribute to the school's strategy for social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist the school during critical incidents, providing support to students and families.
  • Maintain professional development in line with AHPRA and APS guidelines.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a dedicated professional who aligns with our values and is committed to fostering a supportive environment for students. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A valid, paid Working with Children Check.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in group work with students and parents.
  • Expertise in psychometric assessments and mental health evaluations.
  • Experience with learning support needs and creating treatment plans.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A genuine Christian faith of reformed persuasion, with active commitment to a local church.

Applicants should have relevant tertiary qualifications and be registered with Australia Psychologists Society. Ongoing professional development and participation in the spiritual life of the school are expected.
